Gate + Gather V1
What can be sold.
Gate + Gather is for plants, flowers, seedlings, seeds, bulbs and closely related grower products that are lawful and safe to sell in New Zealand.
This is intentionally narrow.
We can add new categories later when we're confident Gate + Gather can support them properly.
Not allowed.
Do not list:
- illegal or controlled drugs or drug-related products
- weapons, explosives or products intended to cause harm
- sexual services, pornography or sexually exploitative material
- people, human remains or human biological material
- stolen, counterfeit or unlawfully obtained goods
- dangerous poisons, hazardous substances or unsafe products
- plants, fungi, seeds or other biological material that are prohibited, restricted or unsafe to possess, propagate, distribute or sell
- pest plants, unwanted organisms or other material prohibited by NZ biosecurity or environmental rules
- protected plant material where sale or propagation is unlawful
- products that infringe another person's intellectual-property or propagation rights
- anything else unlawful to possess or sell in New Zealand.
International plant material
Keep NZ biosecurity safe.
Gate + Gather does not permit the sale of internationally supplied seeds, plants, bulbs, cuttings or other propagation material through the platform.
Plant material listed on a Gate must already be lawfully present in New Zealand and lawful to possess, propagate and sell here.
If you're unsure whether something can legally be sold or propagated in New Zealand, don't list it until you've checked with MPI.
